All too often in our study of the parables we focus on the soil and forget the Sower. Jesus tells us that the purpose of the parables is to "convert" and "heal" us; so this week we study what we learn about the Sower, about the Merchant, about the Savior that makes us want to return to Him and be healed.

I absolutely love the little interlude between 10-10:30. You guys are so sweet to each other. And maybe more stuff like that gets edited out, but it definitely feels like a reality spin that reminds me you guys are real people that aren't always spiritual superheros that have nonstop, unscripted spiritual nuggets for a half hour straight ;) I mean, you are, but I feel a little better now :P

Hi,I really loved this week's study and hey...Hope you sorted the wagon dilemma..lol ( first world problem..no comment haha). Our patriarch had some interesting insights as well..he related the parable of the householder to what we treasure. As I listened to your podcast some of his thoughts came back to me. He suggested that in assessing the old and new it may not always mean deciding between the good and the bad, or what to let go of and what to embrace but also to consider the good better best progression as we fine tune our journey and discipleship. I loved what you said about the pearl..I hadn't applied that to myself before..but you are right! He also tied together so beautifully the parable of the leaven and how it is one of the main ingredients in making bread. But without the correct environment it will not rise. He then linked it to Christ being the whole 'loaf', the flour, water, salt and leaven. Through the sacrament we symbolically partake of Christ through the physical partaking of the bread and water. We know these things but sometimes , as you say, we don't often see the Saviour as the key figure in the story. My husband and I enjoy so much your insights and appreciate the time you take to record.
