1-3 John, Jude - Fellowship
Sunday Dec 01, 2019
Sunday Dec 01, 2019
There is sometimes occassion for even the most devout desible or the most believing Saint to ask themselves, "Jesus, are you really there?" This question may have been on the minds of some of the earliest readers of the apostle John's epistles which would explain why he begins his writings with the certainty of his own witness followed by some of the richest descriptions of Jesus found in scripture. Study with us this week as we learn what John has to say that might help us feel closer to Jesus and become more assured that He is, in deed, really there.

1-2 Peter - Endure
Sunday Nov 24, 2019
Sunday Nov 24, 2019
Webster's definition of endure is "to continue in the same state." However, that's the exact opposite of what Peter counseled early saints to do as they faced persecution and battled personal struggles. In this episode we study what it really means to endure, how to do it ourselves, and why its so important. Welcome to the 100th episode of The Scripture Study Project!

James - Doers
Monday Nov 18, 2019
Monday Nov 18, 2019
When we read this in James: "Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only," we can't help but analyze ourselves. When it comes to studying the gospel, do seek to learn, really learn from the Lord? In this episode, we both study the doctrine of doing as well as practice a scripture study that has us asking what God wants us to learn, and also feel, do, and become.

Hebrews 7-13 - Assurance
Monday Nov 11, 2019
Monday Nov 11, 2019
In a world that seems to be constantly at war with our faith, and with persistent temptations to give up, pull back, or draw away, the Epistle to the Hebrews challenges us to remember our great "high priest of good things to come" (Hebrews 9:11) and to "draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith" (10:22). How do we do that? Study with us this week as we learn together how to strengthen faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Monday Nov 04, 2019
Monday Nov 04, 2019
To a people who felt their faith slipping and their hearts hardening the author of the Epistle to the Hebrews taught both why they should retain their devotion to Christ and how they could actually strengthen their faith. In this first of our two part study of Hebrews we start a study of everything about Jesus Christ that helps us "come boldly to the throne" of God and which increases our confidence before him.

What happens when you feel yourself or someone you love swerving away from the covenant path? That's the question that Paul addresses with a few specific individuals (Timothy and Titus) from this week's study. Study along as we discuss the difference between doctrine and policy and how we can navigate a world that seems to be constantly changing while drawing closer to a God who is unchageable.

1-2 Thessalonians - Patience
Monday Oct 21, 2019
Monday Oct 21, 2019
The Thessalonian saints spent their Christian living in world filled with persecution and pain and, thus, anticipated with longing the promised blessings of the Second Coming of Christ and the accompanying salvation from pain. However, Paul writes to inform them that those promised blessings are yet a ways off for them. So what do you do when the future you're waiting for isn't here yet? What do you do when you're tired of doing what's right and waiting for the reward? How can you be "not weary in well doing" when you feel you've been doing it so long? Study with us this week to learn answers to these and other questions.

Philippians-Colossians - Rejoice
Monday Oct 14, 2019
Monday Oct 14, 2019
Our life, like Paul's, is often filled with bad news and good news that are intertwined. From prison (bad news) Paul writes a letter to the Philippians about his rejoicing (good news) in the gospel of Christ. Similarly, we must learn how to face our own prisons and problems (bad news) and see through them to the promises and perfection (good news) that Jesus Christ offers.
