The Scripture Study Project
Welcome to The Scripture Study Project, we are your hosts Krista and Zach Horton, and this is our podcast where we study scripture with you along with ”Come Follow Me”. Our goal each week is to help you discover new or renewed excitement for God and His word, invest your heart and personal life into your study, and connect with others as you teach and learn together.

Matt 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, John 19 - King
Monday Jun 17, 2019
Monday Jun 17, 2019
Everyone from Pilate to the soldiers to the Jews of the day were focused on the kingship of Jesus Christ. Pilate asked him if he was a king; the soldiers mocked him by putting a crown of thorns on his head; the Jews refused to accept him. Even the sign above his head on the cross read "King of the Jews." This week we study Jesus' final mortal acts as King. As we "view his death" we focus on those aspects of his final hours that "draw" us to him and make us want to accept him as our King!

John 13-17 - Love
Monday Jun 03, 2019
Monday Jun 03, 2019
The word "love" appears 34 times in John chapters 13-17. These chapters, encapsulating some of the Savior's final sermons, focus on his love for us and our love for him and for others. In fact, that's the "new" part of the "new commandment" he gives to us; it's not just about loving others, it's about loving others the way he loves us. Study with us this week as we learn just how to do that!

Trees are supposed to bear fruit. Similarly, children of God are designed to bring forth "fruits". So what fruits does God expect us to bear? What stops us from bearing fruit? And what can we do to start bearing fruit?

What happens when a sheep gets lost? Of course, the shepherd leaves the flock to rescue him. But what gets that sheep lost in the first place? What does God feel about those who get lost on purpose? And what can we do to help rescue others who feel lost? Those questions and more answered this week in our study.

John 7-10 - Shepherd
Monday Apr 29, 2019
Monday Apr 29, 2019
A shepherd leads his flock, not by chasing after them with dogs, but by walking before them and calling to them. The flock follows him, not because they fear him, but because they recognize his voice and know his love and concern for them. This week we study some intimate experiences between the Master Shepherd and some of his sheep that illustrate that love and which will help us recognize His shepherding in our own, daily lives.
